Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I wonder if the NBA Draft is the dumbest night in sports...
- Seriously, who made these rules/offseason schedule? Half the guys drafted by one team are actually being drafted for another team, yet they can't take questions about that because the deals can't be done yet. And the biggest night in the lives for a lot of these players now features them in a hat for a team they won't ever play for. This is beyond dumb. Come on Adam Silver, figure it out.
- I mean, Danny Ainge held a press conference where he can't talk about the moves he's made or is making. How does that help anyone?
- That being said, I like all three players supposedly taken by the Celtics. Good, functional parts that can help the team. Celtics are back to being the try-hard team that was fun to watch. Of course, they can't win an NBA title like this...
- The draft trade of Aron Baynes made me sad. That guy loved being a Celtic and playing for Brad Stevens, yet they have no use for him now. Sigh.
- Conor Ryan has some stuff coming up on Bruins trade/free agency targets, and tonight's draft.
- WR Jakobi Meyers definitely stood out at Patriots camp and could be the UDFA that sticks.
- Red Sox start a homestand tonight. They should be able to put the pedal to the metal.
