First and 10: Heading into the weekend with a ton of Patriots' updates taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal)

Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Friday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.

--Just an FYI -- after I file my weekend notebook, going to be taking some time off over the next couple of weeks to rest and recharge. Hope everyone stays safe and enjoys the downtime before the start of camp.

Now, on with the links...

1. I talked with George McDonald, the college position coach for Jakobi Meyers, about whether or not the receiver could be the latest UDFA to crash New England's 53-man roster. “I really think he has a high ceiling — he caught 90-something passes in his first real year as a wide receiver,” McDonald said of Meyers. “Who knows where he can go from there?”

2. The esteemed Gil Brandt of NFL.com looks at the 10 most talented teams in the league, and includes the Patriots on his list.

3. Marc Sessler predicts one first-time Pro Bowler for each team. When it comes to the Patriots, he goes with J.C. Jackson. I like it.

4. Robert Mays of The Ringer tries to make sense of the NFL's five most unsettled skill position groups. He leads with New England, but doesn't sound concerned about the state of the Pats. "Each season, the Patriots’ goal is to collect a deep, versatile group of skill-position players that allows the team to reinvent its offense in an instant," writes Mays. "They appear to have accomplished that once again."
