Final: Bills 24, Patriots 10 - Offense sputters, Allen capitalizes as Bills beat Pats

No surprises in this one, much to the chagrin of Patriots fans. 

Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense — despite the best efforts of the Pats’ pass rush — still managed to pick apart their competition for most of Thursday night, gaining 22 first downs and 356 total yards in enemy territory.

And despite the optimism drawn from Mac Jones and the Patriots’ offensive surge last Thursday against the Vikings, that breakthrough now looks like an aberration — with lapses in execution and penalties once again scuttling this team en route to a 24-10 loss at Gillette Stadium.

Even if the Patriots' defense managed to slow down Allen and Co., it likely would have just made the end result even more frustrating — as the Patriots ultimately punted on six of their nine drives in the loss. 

With the loss, the Patriots fall to 6-6 on the season.

Vikings 33, Patriots 26: Kirk Cousins threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns, the last a go-ahead score to Adam Thielen with 9:34 left to push Minnesota past New England. Justin Jefferson had 139 receiving yards and one of the touchdown passes from Cousins. Mac Jones had a career-high 382 passing yards but the offense stalled in the fourth quarter while the defense was plagued by injuries and special teams allowed a kickoff return TD.

Bills 28, Lions 25: Tyler Bass made a tiebreaking 45-yard field goal with 2 seconds left after missing an extra point late in the fourth quarter, lifting Buffalo to a win over Detroit. Josh Allen had a passing and rushing touchdown in the first half, finishing 24 of 42 for 253 yards and his 11th interception of the season.
