Good morning!
Your daily rundown of what's going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what's about to happen...
- With an assist from a perfectly timed thunderstorm at around 11:15 p.m. in Foxborough on Sunday night, the Patriots pulled off their second straight win, taking down a 6-2 Ravens team with a strong effort on both sides of the ball.
- Suddenly, the Patriots' run defense looks like its starting to figure things out and held its own against one of the best rushing threats in the NFL. Greg took a closer look at how they managed to solve things on that side of the ball.
- Looks like the Pats found their trick play QB replacement for Julian Edelman.
- Pats still have a long way to go to get themselves fully back in the playoff picture with a two-game deficit in the standings and two teams ahead of them at 6-3 that are still out of the playoffs. The good news? They have racked up head-to-head edges over 6-3 teams already (Miami, Las Vegas, Baltimore) that could help down the line.
- The NBA trade freeze restriction is lifted at Monday at noon, which should kick off a very busy week for the Celtics that includes the NBA Draft and free agency all jam-packed into a week. I took an in-depth look at some veteran trade options the Celtics may be considering with their picks ahead of draft night out West.
- Conor gets you ready for the start of the Hockey East season.
- A big milestone for women in baseball after Kim Ng got the Marlins GM gig so Sean discusses it with Red Sox executive Raquel Ferreira.
