Bedard's Daily Briefing 01.29.19: Greetings from Atlanta, snow on way, Media Night

ATLANTA — Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder how much 2 inches of snow is going to paralyze this city...

• Well, get this, the schools are already closed here.


• The good news is that Atlanta, unlike Dallas, is prepared to treat the roads and sidewalks this time.


• Media Night, despite being worse and worse for the media with every passing year, wasn't that bad. Got some quality time with Josh McDaniels, Dante Scarnecchia, Chad O'Shea, Moses Cabrera, Wade Phillips, etc.


• Saw Guillermo with the Jimmy Kimmel Show getting Bill Belichick to play along. Apropos of nothing: Belichick girlfriend Linda Holliday was close by during the proceedings.


• If Media Night was any representation, this is going to be a home game for the Patriots.


• Was surprised to see Joe Thuney doing interviews nonstop for about 35 minutes. Even he was surprised. "I kept trying to retreat but they kept coming," he said.


• Brendan Daly — BSJ's favorite to be the next defensive coordinator — was wearing a flannel and jeans. Was he trying to avoid detection? "No, I opened up the bag they gave me and the jacket was like a half shirt," he said.


• #AsExpected, Brian Flores and O'Shea would not entertain Dolphins questions. You don't have to worry about their focus.


• Man, I wish there was a camera on Danny Ainge when it was announced Anthony Davis wanted out of New Orleans now, and not after the season when the Celtics would be positioned to pounce. Brutal. Still think Danny will have something up his sleeve. He always does.


• No, trading Kyrie is not it.


• Hey, at least they won last night against the Nets with the new Splash Brothers.
