Good morning!
Your daily rundown of what's going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what's about to happen...
________________
- The Patriots head to the Meadowlands to take on the Jets tonight and they'll be doing so short-handed.
- LB Ja'Whaun Bentley, CB Stephon Gilmore and DL Lawrence Guy have been downgraded to out, joining N'Keal Harry and JJ Taylor.
- Unless the Patriots decide to go without linebackers — which I would not put past them — rookies Anfernee Jennings, Josh Uche and perhaps Cassh Maluia could get a lot of run.
- Going to be a rough go inside without Guy. Newcomer Carl Davis could see a lot of snaps.
- Dalton Keene didn't travel with the team and now he's been ruled out. Ryan Izzo is your lone healthy TE. Things are great at TE too.
- It's a good thing they're playing the Jets tonight being shorthanded at DT, LB and TE.
- We'll have more on NFL Sunday in a little bit, but the Patriots' path to the playoffs took a hit this weekend.
- My eyes will be on Cam Newton tonight. He needs to start stacking success rapidly. He and the team has no room for step backs at this point.
- Not looking forward to hearing Brian Griese tonight on the telecast. Was not one of my favorite players to cover, and his teammates didn't exactly love him either.
- Red Sox will re-introduce Alex Cora at 1:30 p.m on Tuesday.
- Ron Roenicke told Sean McAdam that he's happy Cora is coming back, and he didn't rule out a reunion.
- Realistic veteran trade targets for the Celtics
- Getting to the best Bruins prospects
