Good afternoon!
A few random thoughts while I wonder if Ainge's nickname will change to Draftnik Danny, since he loves his draft picks so much...
- The NBA trade deadline came and went ... and the Celtics did nothing while the Sixers and Heat made moves in the East.
- Danny Ainge talked to B-Robb and explained his thinking on not augmenting the roster, which has been playing very well of late.
- In fairness, we should probably wait for the buyout market to really judge this decision, but it feels like Ainge falls more and more in love with his roster every year.
- I agree with the thinking that the East is wide open this year — that may not be the case in future years — and at least a trip to the NBA Finals is there for the Celtics.
- Almost done grading the Patriots from this past season. Individual offensive grades are out. Man, Joe Thuney was sensational this season. One of the best lineman seasons I've ever seen.
- Maybe the Red Sox' trade will be completed at some point. Between this, the investigation and the manager decision, 2020 seems like the year where everything takes like three months. In other words, just like an MLB game.
- Does anyone else have the feeling that the Red Sox are dragging things out because they hope Alex Cora only gets one year and they bring him back?
