Good afternoon!
A few random thoughts while I wonder how much America misses the Patriots in the Super Bowl...
- The week of Super Bowl LIV got off to a relatively quiet start with Media Night. Didn't see too many big waves made.
- Tyreek Hill, who has a questionable history, seemed to get out relatively unscathed.
- The ex-Patriots involved seemed to say all the right things, although Mike Pennell wanted a little more clarity from his coaches.
- Imagine if you're a Bears fan (or GM Ryan Pace) and you have to watch Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl and your team has ... Mitch Trubisky.
- Somebody asked Mahomes if they could have his shoes.
- Drew Bledsoe didn't think Tom Brady would be more than a backup like Jason Garrett. Let me see if I do this right... "That didn't age well, Drew! What do you think of Brady now, Drew, huh?! You should be fired. No one should ever listen to you. Idiot!"
- On a personal note, I hope Zach Thomas is elected to the Hall of Fame. One of the best players and people I've ever covered.
- Jay Glazer says the Chargers have moved on from Philip Rivers, which wouldn't be great news for Tom Brady fans ... but is he the best answer for that team?
- Celtics start a gauntlet tonight in Miami against the Heat and likely won't have Jayson Tatum.
