Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I wonder if VAR can save me from some normal life screw-ups...
- I don't really care what happened in his first tenure with the Sox, or in Chicago — things are always complicated — I would like Theo Epstein back home with some real say and to be the adult in the room so the Sox aren't changing people out every other year. Sounds like that's not going to happen.
- Welcome, Cody Kessler. I wouldn't plan on being around very long.
- In case you missed it, the Revolution were on the brink of having a terrible loss, one that could eventually cost them a playoff spot ... and then they rallied for a 2-2 draw in the final minutes.
- The Revs got a gift from the Timbers to escape with the draw. It was akin to the Patriots getting a first-round bye because some idiot on the other team tackled a Patriots receiver in the end zone on an 80-yard Hail Mary that had little chance of being completed. One of the dumbest things I've seen in sports. Legit call though.
- Interesting close to the regular season coming up.
- How long until David Backes finds a leotard in his locker (kidding ... a lot of hockey players do figure skating in the offseason).
- Good showing from the Bruins last night.
