Bedard's Daily Briefing 07.22.19: Red Sox hit rock bottom? Edelman to miss camp; Revs rolling

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder how long the Red Sox can keep sleepwalking through this season...

• The Red Sox lost a series to the Orioles. Seriously?! What an embarrassment.


• Not only that, but they were blown out in one loss and almost no-hit in the other.


• Now they have the Rays and Yankees for the next 14 games. This is it. No more rope. The season comes down to this. Put up or shut up. All that stuff.


• Julian Edelman will miss most if not all of training camp with a thumb injury. He doesn't need camp or passes from Tom Brady. A lot of other people do, however.


• No real surprises on the camp PUP list. Sony Michel didn't have much of a camp last year either. The team drafted Damien Harris for a reason.


• Revs kept rolling in Cincinnati.


• You have to admire Sweeney's passion. But he really did suggest some people should wait for the Revs' season to be over to really care about the Patriots. That's a good one.
