First and 10: WR trade possibilities for the Patriots, QB fits, Alabama Pro Day...and more taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal)

Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Tuesday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.

Going to hop right into things this morning, because we've got a bunch of really interesting links you guys are going to want to get into as soon as possible. (Alabama and Penn State both have their Pro Days Tuesday, and we'll be on the lookout for Bill Belichick.)

Now, on with the links...

1. With free agency winding down, it's time to start looking at the trade market when it comes to wide receiver. In the past, the Patriots have been aggressive when it comes to finding offensive skill position players via trade. Will they do it again this year?

2. I had an absolutely epic Monday afternoon Q&A that focused on free agency and the draft. Some terrific questions, a few of which could eventually become column/story ideas.

3. Free agency wasn't as frantic on Monday as it was the week before, but it still had its share of highlights, and so Live Coverage was up and running all day long. Where will Jordy Nelson end up? As of Monday, the Patriots were one of five teams interested, according to Adam Schefter.

4. Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com has a really smart, thoughtful look at some quarterbacking fits for some of the high-end draft picks, as well as some other signal-callers who might be on the market. When it comes to New England, he tabs Josh Rosen as a potential Patriot. "Not only would the Patriots land an heir apparent for Tom Brady," writes Jeremiah, "but they love a good deal and Rosen offers a tremendous value for a young quarterback in terms of the money attached to his contract (he has three years and $6.2 million remaining on his rookie deal)."

5. In his weekly column, Peter King has the story of an early-morning phone call between Drew Rosenhaus and Belichick regarding Trent Brown.

6. Gregg Rosenthal has his best and worst deals of the new league year so far. He lists Michael Bennett to New England as one of the best. "In Bennett, the Patriots got a quality starting defensive end under contract for only $7.2 million this season," writes Rosenthal. "His production would be worth at least $10 million on the open market."

7. Over the weekend, Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow said he had a dream he was a Patriot and he had met Tom Brady. "I went to sleep and I woke up and I was having a meeting with Tom Brady," he said. "It was like, the weirdest thing."

8. Two different Patriots have changed representation this offseason. First, it was Jonathan Jones. Now, it's Ryan Allen. Mike Reiss wonders if that's one of the reasons why the punter remains unsigned.

9. Right now, the Patriots and Eagles are the favorites to land the most compensatory draft picks for 2020.

Extra Point: Man, Sea Bass really changed.
