FOXBOROUGH -- We're on the scene for the first night of the 2018 NFL draft. Keep it here for all the updates throughout the weekend. On Thursday, the Patriots hold two first-round selections -- the No. 23 overall pick and the No. 31 overall selection. So what are they going to do? We'll find out in the next few hours.

11:28 p.m.: The Patriots took running back Sony Michel out of Georgia with the 31st overall pick in the 2018 draft. A 5-foot-11, 216-pounder, Michel rushed for 3,6113 yards on 590 carries (an astounding 6.1 yards per carry) in his college career, he added 64 catches for 921 yards out of the backfield. Here’s a quick look at some of his highlights.

ISAIAH WYNN, Georgia (6-2 ½, 317, no 40, 1-2): Generally started at LG in 2015-’16 before moving to LT out of necessity for a playoff team in ’17. “He has to be a guard or a center,” said one scout. “Strong, good football player. Ideally not a first-round guy but he’s among the best. Competitive, smart, good athlete, good strength for his size.” Finished with 21 starts at LT and 19 at LG. “Is he dominant? No,” a second scout said. “He’s a good starter in the NFL. Name the last (top) Georgia offensive lineman? It’s been a long time. Matt Stinchcomb, maybe.” Arms were 33 3/8 but his hands are tiny (8 ½). “He does everything you want,” a third scout said. “He’s got arm length, he’s competitive, he’s big. He has a sense how to play the position.” From St. Petersburg, Fla.”

11:14 p.m.: Just finished up a conference call with Wynn, who spent roughly half the session chuckling and just sort of enjoying the moment. He described himself as a "very lovable guy." ... Said he was close with David Andrews and Malcolm Mitchell, two other former Georgia players. ... Sounds comfortable with playing guard or tackle. ... He's never been to New England -- in fact, he's never been north of New York. ... He met with the Patriots at the combine, but is still not saying (or isn't sure) if he's going to be a guard or a tackle at the NFL level. ... According to Pro Football Focus, Wynn gave up just four sacks, two quarterback hits and 20 hurries in 1,104 pass-blocking snaps since 2014.

10:43 p.m.: A 6-foot-3, 313-pounder who played guard for most of his college career, some have projected Wynn as a tackle in the NFL. A second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC selection in 2017, he will almost certainly be part of the conversation when it comes to left tackle in 2018.
