BSJ Daily Briefing: 01.13.18: Pats Gameday, Bruins back from bye taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Adam Richins for BSJ

Good morning!

  • Game day is finally here and it's going to be a chilly one in Foxboro after a 40-degree(!) temperature drop from this morning. Be careful walking around in those parking lots if you're heading to the game with a flash freeze expected. Temps are expected to be in 20s and falling throughout the game with a 10 mph wind.

  • Latest reports out of Foxboro via Adam Schefter of ESPN is that Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee will both be out with knee injuries. James White is expected to play, so that should give the Pats backfield a boost.

  • Bruins will serve as a nice appetizer to kickoff with a 7 p.m. start in Montreal coming off their bye week. Kind of crazy how far up they are on their rivals to the north (11 point edge with two games in hand).

  • Celtics will be back in action in Waltham trying to get their body clocks right after a trip across the pond.

  • Keep your eye on the Cavs in the standings. They have now dropped three straight after losing in Indiana and are now seven back of the C's with only 40 games to play. That's a hell of a mountain to climb for them.

And away we go...
