A few thoughts while the people in South Florida deal with a cold snap. It's a whole 49 degrees for a low. Pfft, Southerners.
- I was traveling so I didn't see much of Steelers-Ravens but it sure sounded like it was quite the meeting of the minds between Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh.
- If you've been paying attention to my Steelers' breakdowns (I'll have another today), you would have read this: "You take this to the bank: if Roethlisberger thinks he has single-high safety with press man on the outside, he’s throwing the fade down the right sideline." Roll highlight...

- Will be interested to see what happened to the Steelers' run defense, in particular, because it was pretty stout in the two games I've watched so far.
- T-shirt and hat game for the Patriots tonight. They always seem to deliver when that's on the line.
- Carson Wentz going down to an ACL injury not only eliminates the Eagles as a potential Super Bowl opponent for the Patriots (and the one that had the best mix to threaten them), but it makes Tom Brady basically a shoe-in for his third MVP award.
- From the highlights I saw, Jimmy Garoppolo played well and delivered another W, but he was throwing off his back foot a lot. Good way to develop a bad habit.
- Great win by the Celtics in Detroit. Would love to a see a seven-game series between those two teams.
- Huge defensive game by Aaron Baynes against Andre Drummond.
- And, boy, is Brad Stevens good. Nice adjustments after the first one.
- The Yankees add Giancarlo Stanton and the Red Sox' big news is an injured pitcher getting arrested. Awesome offseason to this point.
- There's a report the Red Sox are interested in Kyle Schwarber? You mean the guy who whiffed 150 times and got demoted to Triple-A last year? No thank you.
And away we go...
