Final: Brewers 5, Red Sox 4 - Milwaukee jumps on Whitlock early

Garrett Whitlock couldn't follow up his brilliant start from last weekend, and was hammered for five runs in a 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Whitlock allowed a two-run homer to Rowdy Tellez and two more runs in the fifth inning, and the Red Sox couldn't catch up.

They got a two-run homer from Yu Chang in the fifth and one from Rafael Devers in the sixth, but that was the extent of their offense. They got just two baserunners over the final three innings, and both times, stranded the runner in scoring position.
