FINAL: Tigers 4, Red Sox 1 - Boston Loses Two Out of Three After Criswell Questionably Exits After Four Perfect Innings
The Red Sox fell to the Detroit Tigers 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park. With this loss, Boston drops two of three games as the Red Sox continue to fight for the final Wild Card spot in the American League.Today's big story was Alex Cora deciding to take Cooper Criswell out after only four innings where he went four perfect innings with five strikeouts.

The only explanation would be that this was a pre-calculated analytics move that ultimately failed. It is worth pointing out that Boston outhit Detroit six to three but left six runners on base. You can not expect to win when you only score one run and continue to leave runners on base time and time again.
"It was the way we drew it up...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't," Cora said after the game.
It was not until the fifth inning when Jarren Duran got the Red Sox on the board first with an RBI single that scored Romy Gonzalez to make it 1-0.
