The Red Sox snap their six game winning streak in an embarrassing 8-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

Walker Buehler had another rough start where he contributed to all eight of Seattle's runs in this game.

Buehler allowed five runs in the 2nd inning including a grand slam to all-star catcher Cal Raleigh putting the game out of reach early.

Boston's starter only lasted 3.1 innings on the mound as he struggled with his control throughout his outing. When Buehler did pitch in the strike zone, the Mariners were able to make contact which resulted in eight hits against the righty.

At the plate, the Red Sox struggled against Bryan Woo who only allowed one hit in seven innings on the mound. Woo's lone hit came from Marcelo Mayer in the 5th inning.

Boston sent out a variety of bullpen arms, and each of them pitched scoreless outings in their appearances. However, it didn't matter considering how uncompetitive the Red Sox were at the plate. Overall, a forgettable performance tonight for the Red Sox.

Boston will wrap up their series with Seattle tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.

WHAT'S UP

The Red Sox look to continue their five game winning streak tonight with Walker Buehler on the mound.

Yesterday, the Red Sox won their first game after trading Rafael Devers 2-0 with Lucas Giolito on the mound. Roman Anthony recorded his first career home run in this game.

Alex Cora said Masataka Yoshida would need some at-bats on a rehab assignment in the minors before rejoining the Red Sox.

In his introductory press conference with the San Francisco Giants, Rafael Devers said he is open to playing 1st base for his new team. “They’re the men in charge,” Devers said when asked where he’d play for San Francisco. “I am here to play wherever they want me to play.”
