Trevor's Game Notes

Hot Bat: The Red Sox lost the second game of their series against the Rangers in Arlington 7-4. The majority of Boston's offense came from Rob Refsnyder, who gave the Red Sox a fighting chance early on. In the 1st inning, Refsnyder hit a solo home run to left field off Rangers Starter Cody Bradford to give Boston a quick 1-0 lead.

This wasn't the last home run Refsnyder had tonight, as he would hit another solo blast to put the game 2-0 in favor of the Red Sox.

After Refsnyder's second home run, Connor Wong would drive home Rafael Devers from second base giving Boston what looked like a comfortable 3 run lead. Refsnyder would record his third RBI in the 7th inning off a double that brought home Ceddanne Rafaela. Overall, Refsnyder went 4-4 with a walk in today's game

4th Inning Collapse: Tanner Houck started the game for the Red Sox, who received the loss in the contest. The beginning of the game for Houck went solid. He struck out 4 consecutive Rangers and got out of a jam in the bottom of the 3rd. However,in the 4th inning, Houck's luck ran out as he would allow back-to-back home runs that brought the game to 4-3 in favor of the Rangers. Catcher Jonah Heim tied the game with a 3-run homer to right field, and Outfielder Leody Taveras followed with a right field home run that barely got over the wall. In the 6th inning, the Rangers would add 3 more runs putting the game out of reach for Boston.

The Red Sox will play their rubber match game against the Ranger tomorrow at 2:35 p.m.
