Final: Senators 3, Bruins 2 (F/OT) - Brady Tkachuk scores overtime winning goal as Linus Ullmark picks up victory over his former team
After winning Thursday's game against the Calgary Flames in overtime, the Bruins fall to the Ottawa Senators 3-2 with Brady Tkachuk scoring the winning goal in overtime.
Facing off against former Bruin Linus Ullmark, Boston got outplayed through the majority of the game. The Bruins started out sluggish. They weren't able to make tape-to-tape passes, and once they landed on the power play, Boston barely generated any scoring chances. Late into the first period, Elias Lindholm went to the box for an interference call. Unlike Boston, Ottawa took advantage of their power play opportunity as Josh Norris scored the first goal of the game on a one-timer on the right side of the slot.
Who doesn't love a good Josh Scorris one-timer...except probably Boston 🤷♂️#GoSensGo pic.twitter.com/l9Tg3LxcKk

The Bruins turned things around the next period, scoring their only two goals of the game within seconds of each other. Five minutes into the second, Pavel Zacha caught a pass in front of the net from David Pastrnak. With his back facing Ullmark, Zacha spun around and fired a backhand goal that surprised Ullmark and gave the Bruins their first goal of the game.

Seconds later, the Bruins made it back into their offensive zone. After a backhand shot from Hampus LIndholm, Justin Brazeau found the loose puck in front of the net and passed it to Brad Marchand who buried the puck into the back of the net giving Boston their first lead of the night.

Ottawa ended up trying things in the same period as Michael Amadio fired a wrist shot past Jeremy Swayman late in the second period.
It was a frustrating third period for Boston that saw them fail to generate any offense. The Bruins didn't record their first shot of the period until the six-minute mark. Meanwhile Ottawa constantly pressured Swayman in their opposite zone ending the period 12 shots on net.
In overtime, the Bruins had their chance to pick up the extra point. However, after a nice leg save from Ullmark, the Senators pushed the puck to the opposite side of the rink, and Tkachuk fired the game-winning goal to give Ottawa the victory.

The lack of offensive production from Boston was put on full blast in this game. Their third period performance was inexcusable, and they're fortunate to even pick up a point in the game. 14 minutes of no shots on goal doesn't translate to victories.
On Tuesday, the Bruins will play in St. Louis to take on the Blues. Puck drop is 8 p.m.
