STATS

BEDARD'S KEYS TO THE GAME AND GAME PICK
- Wall up against the run with run blitzes if you have to. Don't let Derrick Henry get a head of steam. Can't let him get going.
- Make Lamar Jackson beat you from the pocket.
- Overplay the tight ends.
- Know where Kyle Hamilton is at all times.
- Throw to the running backs a lot.
- Stay balanced on offense unles you're down two scores late.
- Get off to a fast start. If the Ravens come out slow, their fans will turn on them and frustration will set in.
BEDARD'S GAME PICK
Season: 9-5 straight up, 6-8 spread.
Line: Ravens -3. O/U: 48.5.
This line has moved a little bit, probably due to New England's injury report with Spillane out, and Barmore, Davis, Jones and Landry all questionable. I don't fault them. On paper, the Ravens should win this game going away. They should be able to pound the run game, and they are a good defense that will get enough stops and possibly a turnover or two. But the Ravens are the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team. They were somewhat impressive in a 24-0 win over the Bengals last week on the road, but were terrible and dominated in home losses to the Bengals and Steelers. In fact, they're just 3-5 at home. If New England jumps on them early and the Ravens' offense struggles, that home crowd is going to voice their frustrations, and then the Ravens kind of implode. Jackson has been turning the ball over. I'm sure Vrabel has been drilling his guys on how to stop and strip Henry, who also turns the ball over. Patriots are going to need some help from the Ravens to win this game, and they're going to need Maye to go another level. Both are definitely possible. Maye always bounces back well, and the Patriots have been impressive in prime time. But I just don't see how they get off the field enough in this one.
Ravens 24, Patriots 20.
