FOXBOROUGH - Practice No. 17 of 2024 is in the books; let's run down all you need to know: all the stats, 3 up/down, 1-on-1 pass rushes, and odds and ends:
FOUR THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Austin Hooper back: Patriots finally got good news on the tight end heath front with Austin Hooper back after missing one practice. Hunter Henry and Mitchell Wilcox remained out. Joshua Uche watched practice in shorts. Normally he's at least padded and doing rehab.
Drake Maye decidedly with the 2s: Despite building some momentum, Maye was solidly with the second team offensive line in this practice and didn't take any snaps from David Andrews. Biggest tell on where this "competition" is: the Patriots held their first "cards" period (the scout literally reads off a card and runs an opponent's play - likely starting prep for the Bengals, but it could be the Commanders). It lasted 10 minutes. Brissett and the starting offensive line ran all the plays but two. Maye got two snaps with the second-team line.
Jacoby Brissett rebounds in lighter practice as 'camp' concludes: This was the last official training camp practice. The players are off on Tuesday, but back on the field in front of the media on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There weren't many competitive periods, as most of it was at a jog-through pace. Patriots did run a period where there was 1:04 left on the clock, needing a field goal. Brissett threw a 40-yard bomb down the left sideline to Tyquan Thornton over Christian Gonzalez and got a Joey Slye 36-yard field goal. Maye was 2 of 4, with a sack on first down (not his fault, free runner inside), and it did not result in points.
Offensive line stabilizes: The starting offensive line appears to be intact and the blender from the previous two days appears to be over. The only competition there, at the moment, appears to be at left guard between Sidy Sow and Layden Robinson, as they rotated a bit in team periods. Caeden Wallace and Chuks Okorafor also swapped at RT for an abbreviated series.

- Bell drops a deep over route.
ONE-ON-ONE REPORT
No split reps! But limited.

No snaps from Davon Godchaux or Anfernee Jennings. Keion White was back.
Lowe's decisive win was over Jotham Russell, not exactly a tough matchup. But just stoned him. Lowe also put William Bradley-King on the ground, might have been some slippage.
White's decisive win was over Kellen Diesch. Again, not top competition.
TOP PLAYS
The Brissett-Thornton throw and catch, while Gonzalez got burned.
THREE UP
QB Jacoby Brissett: The throw to Thornton was perfect. While Gonzalez was burned, he still had no chance.
WR Tyquan Thornton: Looked like Cris Collinsworth with that over the shoulder grab.
OT Vederian Lowe: 2-0 is 2-0 and he's been surprisingly good of late.
TWO DOWN
WR Javon Baker: Another drop and he hung his head after. He's losing confidence by the day running with the 3s largely. Jaheim Bell also had a drop.
K Joey Slye: Opened the competition up by going 3 for 5 today while Chad Ryland was 3 of 4
