Good afternoon!
Your daily rundown of what’s going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what’s about to happen…
Less than 10 months after both he and the Red Sox opted to part ways, Alex Cora was back at Fenway Park — with the organization welcoming him back as manager. Fair to say, Cora learned a lot during his season-long exile due to his involvement in the 2017 Astros sign-stealing scandal.
Despite some of the optics and preconceived notions, Chaim Bloom stressed that Cora's return was not due to an edict from Red Sox ownership.
The Celtics — and the city of Boston as a whole — lost a legend on Tuesday, as Hall of Fame player/coach/broadcaster Tommy Heinsohn passed away at the age of 86. His resume speaks for itself — eight championships as a player, two titles as a coach and decades of highlights in the booth. What an incredible legacy to leave for a man who truly bled green.
The Patriots might have rallied back for a dramatic victory over the Jets on Monday, but the play of New England’s secondary against a listless New York offense did raise some concerns — especially with Lamar Jackson coming to town on Sunday night.
The NHL has been tight-lipped when it comes to concrete plans regarding the 2021 season, but we could start to hear details very, very soon.
