BSJ Daily Briefing 09.30.20: Patriots moving on to Chiefs; Covid hits NFL; Sox offseason starts; NBA, MLB playoffs roll on

Good morning!

Your daily rundown of what's going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what's about to happen, for BSJ members only...

• Patriots are moving onto to the Chiefs, but we finished our review from the Raiders game with the Breakdown and podcast.


• I mostly just think it was a bad day at the office for Cam Newton, and the Patriots may have been working on some things for the Chiefs on defense.


• There was A LOT of talk about the Chiefs with Felger & Mazz.


• Dr. Flynn weighed in on the Titans' positive Covid tests.


• I'm sorry, but I am totally against a) any talks of forfeits unless there was complete ignorance; and b) the Titans not practicing and then playing due to player safety reasons. The NFL has all the time in the world — the Super Bowl can be pushed back a month if need be.


• Forfeiting games would set a dangerous precedent. Can you imagine the reaction if the Patriots had to forfeit a Week 17 game that would give the AFC East and the lone divisional playoff berth to the Bills? Start building in postponements to a Week 18.


• B-Robb has a lot of Celtics offseason stuff in the works, starting with this primer.


• Red Sox' budget for the offseason is cloudy, and ownership says the manager will be Chaim Bloom's call. I don't believe that.

• MLB playoff winners on Day 1: Astros, White Sox, Rays, Yankees big over the Fighting Franconas.
