Good morning!
Your daily rundown of what's going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what's about to happen, for BSJ members only ...
• Update: I will be at Patriots today and tomorrow.
• If you call them the Perfection Line, I'm going to slap you across the face, but the Bergeron line was terrific last night. That Bergy stick lift and eventual Brad Marchand goal was a thing of beauty.
• Cooper is going to have to match Cirelli against them ... can't go with top line, they're not tough enough.
• I don't know what it is, but I watch the Lightning against other teams and they're great. I watch them against the Bruins and they just get stifled. Must just be a bad matchup. My pre-series guess of Tampa in 7 not looking so good.
• Jaro Halak is as good as Tuukka. We all knew this.
• Cam Newton will be the Patriots' starting QB this season ... I wrote that on Saturday before Sunday's practice.
• Everything you wanted to know about the Patriots' offense to this point is in this story, and there's a lot of internal confidence about where they're going.
• After the snoozefest first round, the Celtics-Raptors schedule is set.
• Red Sox are willing to take money back to deal some players. Good. Sell it all, except Xander. They're awful.
• By the way, the Red Sox played a bottom of the 10th on Saturday night that would infuriate you if that was your Little League team on the field. It was horrendous.
