Good afternoon!
A few random thoughts while I wonder if Tom Brady got a hall pass from Robert Kraft...
- The Red Sox finally sent out Chaim Bloom after, we think, the trade with the Dodgers was completed (it was, right? Are we sure?) and says the deal was all about sustainability and not an outright salary dump. Totally believable.
- First day of spring training, baby ... this should be fun.
- The Red Sox did their due diligence on Alex Verdugo ... hopefully it was better than the intel on the Twins' pitcher.
- Love my boy RapSheet, and I'm sure someone with the Patriots told him this, but how does this make any sense?
From NFL Now: #Patriots owner Robert Kraft felt the best outcome for all parties in 2020 would come after Tom Brady tested free agency. An explanation for why he agreed to let it happen ?????? pic.twitter.com/9UkM6aZp2w

- What is this, a high school relationship? Let me get this straight. Basically, Brady and the Patriots have been in a long-term relationship but they're going to see other people over spring break and if they still want to be together after that, it was meant to be (heart emoji).
- That's fine and all, in theory, but what if Bill Belichick is a total stud and while Brady's gone, he has a date every night and forgets Brady's name?
- I'm telling you, if you think Brady is just going to go to free agency — past the tampering period — and Belichick is just going to wait around for an answer before doing anything (if he ends up making the ultimate call), Brady could be in for a rude awakening.
- Sounds like the Patriots are setting Brady up. It sounds like they're hoping he finds another suitor, which would allow them to say, "We didn't break up with him, it's not our fault." This is getting weird and we're still over a month out.
- Not sure we're going to get much work out of Conor today ... he's probably still drowning his Beanpot sorrows somewhere in Southie

As a completely impartial viewer here — that's a terrible call.

Trevor Zegras and the Terriers are mighty pissed that the Beanpot Final was decided on a soft call like that. pic.twitter.com/xIflXek5A6
