Jayson Tatum had 20 of his game-high 28 points in the second half as the C’s used big third quarter (35-22) to get past the Hawks with a 123-115 victory. Gordon Hayward (24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists) and Jaylen Brown (21 points) chipped in with big scoring nights with Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart sidelined but it was the bench that came up big late as Grant Williams (13 points, 6 rebounds) hit a dagger layup in the game’s final minute to help put the Hawks away.
Brad Wanamaker also scored a season-high 16 points off the bench as he got the start in the second half over Javonte Green. His impact on the offense was big in the 35-point third quarter but the C’s got sloppy in the fourth quarter (16 turnovers on the night) which make things closer late than they needed to be before the C’s closed the door.
Boston now has won four straight games in seven of eight overall. The C’s now head back to the Garden for a couple of home tilts against the Magic and Hawks.

- Marcus Smart will sit out after suffering a right thigh contusion in Saturday's win over the Sixers following a collision with Joel Embiid. Kemba Walker will also miss his second straight game with a sore knee, leaving the C's mighty thin at point guard at the depth chart. Tremont Waters and Carsen Edwards were both recalled from Maine for that matchup and one will likely see time in this matchup.
- Enes Kanter is available to play after missing the past four games with a sore hip. He had a double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) in Boston's win over the Hawks last month.
- Atlanta has a pretty extensive injury report for tonight game as well with Alex Len and Cam Reddish already declared out and Trae Young, DeAndre Hunter and Bruno Fernando all questionable.
- Interesting decision for Brad Stevens tonight with his rotations. Wanamaker is a logical choice to start at PG but it's going to be tough for him to guard Trae Young or Huerter. Having him run the bench unit may be the safer choice with a defensive-minded piece (Ojeleye? Grant Williams?) slotting in, allowing Hayward to run the offense? Giving Tremont Waters a start to run the offense with the starters can't be ruled out either.
