Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I wonder what the city's sports teams can do for an encore...
- So let's see, where to start...
- The Red Sox officially hired Chaim Bloom on Friday as their next Chief Baseball Officer. Yeah, he's another young baseball nerd, but his teams produced and he might just be the smartest of all the pocket-protector set.
- Later that night, the Celtics beat the Raptors for their first victory of the season, and the real Kemba Walker showed up in the second half. Jaylen Brown was pretty good too.
- In a Stanley Cup rematch on Saturday, the Bruins bodied the Blues and Tuukka Rask posted a shutout (we won't post any Game 7 snark)...
- The Celtics went to New York that night and blasted the Knicks behind Walker again.
- On Sunday, the Patriots beat the Browns 27-13 to improve to 8-0 on the season.
- Bill Belichick notched his 300th win a game he probably loved.
- Mohamed Sanu made his Patriots debut and had a big catch late.
- And then, finally, the Bruins passed the Celtics on I-95 and took their turn owning Madison Square Garden with a 7-4 win over the Rangers.
- Oh, and Tiger Woods won again.
- The Astros swept the Nationals in D.C. to take a 3-2 World Series lead back to Houston.
- So ... what's next?
Time to hit the links...
