BSJ Daily Briefing 10.16.19: Michael Bennett's days could be numbered, Carsen Edwards goes off

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder what if Michael Bennett asked Brett Bielema about his shirtless photo...

• The Patriots are 6-0, no one but Buffalo (gag) is within two games of them, they have the best defense in football ... and there's still a little of bit of drama around the team.


• Michael Bennett announced he's been suspended for a game for conduct detrimental to the team. I like how Bennett didn't apologize to his coach or the team, just his teammates. Well done.


• Of course, I talked to him on Thursday night and you could tell he was as confounded as anyone as to why he wasn't playing more. Think it's fair, when you're a veteran, to expect a little bit of explanation of your situation. Bennett evidently wasn't getting that. Maybe he sought some clarity and his questions weren't well-received.


• In any event, this is a situation that seems to be coming to a head sooner rather than later.


• Did my tour of duty with the Three Idiots. Always a good time.


• Carsen Edwards put on a show during the Celtics' final preseason game. We'll always have the Summer of 2019 with this group. They brought the fun back to Celtics basketball.


• Hot start for the Bruins, but not in the second periods so far.
