A very busy day for the Patriots — we need a moment because DanSkipper is being signed to the Texans' 53-man roster — turned chaotic on Tuesday afternoon as MichaelBennett admitted he has been suspended by the team for the Jets game.
"On Friday, I had a philosophical disagreement with my position coach that has led to my suspension," Bennett told ESPN. "I apologize to my teammates for any distraction this may have caused."
The suspension was first reported by NFL Network.
BrettBielema is Bennett's position coach. Perhaps Bennett was trying to get clarification for his lack of playing time, which he talked about with BSJ after the game.
In injury news, WR JoshGordon (knee) and TE MattLaCosse (knee) were not present when the media is there. Not a surprise on either. Both players are expected to miss 2-4 weeks with MCL/ankle injuries.
In other news, the Patriots signed WR DevinRoss and G/C TylerGauthier to the practice squad, and released K YounghoeKoo and TE Jason Vander Laan. Skipper's signing with the Texans was reported by Mike Reiss.
