Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I wonder why Bill Belichick hates fun and didn't have an offensive lineman field a punt last night...
- We're coming up on the baseball trade deadline (only one this year) and Sean McAdam has some interesting notes on what the Red Sox are doing, especially in regards to Edwin Diaz. That dude has great stuff but has not been good this season.
- Austin Ainge sat down with B-Robb to discuss the current state of the Celtics and their offseason. Vincent Poirier is an interesting cat.
- Patriots had their annual in-stadium practice. Nice event for fans pairing it with the PHoF inductions. All the players signed after the practice as well.
- On the field, it was even more low-key than normal, probably due to the soccer grass still on the pitch.
- I gave you my four standouts/disappointments in Patriots camp so far. Yes, Jamie Collins is on my down list and I discuss why in there.
- Dating back to the Instagram model cut hand incident, I haven't been the biggest Marcus Smart guy. But he really grew on me last year since he seemed to be the only adult in the locker room besides Al Horford. Smart is still speaking the truth and taking ownership. Love it.
- Bruins first-round pick John Beecher is already looking like a smart overdraft by Don Sweeney.
