FOXBOROUGH — Revolution center back Michael Mancienne said Thursday morning that he is about 70 percent recovered from his foot injury that has kept him sidelined since early May.
After playing in eight of New England’s first 11 games in 2019, Mancienne has not played for The Boys In Blue since Saturday, May 4’s 6-1 loss to Philadelphia. In that game, it was apparent that the Englishman was dealing with some sort of injury, as he moved rather slow with the Union’s counterattack.
The Revs then shut Mancienne down after he was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in his right heel.
It has been something he has dealt with since the preseason, he said following Thursday morning’s training session at the Revolution training pitch to the south of Gillette Stadium, and that it grew to be a problem.
