Patriots Live Notebook 06.05.19: Hot one in Foxborough as Brady and company return to the field taken at Gillette Stadium (Patriots)

(Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal)

FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots just wrapped up their second minicamp session of the spring under sunny skies on the fields behind Gillette Stadium. We’ll have more details along shortly, but here are a few quick notes.

—There was no Sony Michel, Nick Brossette, Deatrich Wise and Demaryius Thomas. Nate Ebner was on the sidelines, while Kyle Van Noy and Isaiah Wynn were limited.

—On Tuesday, Teddy Karras got the bulk of the work with what appeared to be the starting offensive line at left guard, while Joe Thuney took all the starting reps at left tackle. On Wednesday, it appeared Brian Schwenke got the bulk of the work at left guard with the starters. One other offensive line note — don’t sleep on Cole Croston, who has gotten plenty of quality work at tackle. Could be a possibility for that swing tackle spot.

—One positional/depth chart note on the defensive side of the ball — with no Chung, Obi Melifonwu lined up next to Devin McCourty again with what looked to be a reasonable facsimile of the starting defense.

—One of the ways to measure a good day or bad day of practice is the amount of yelling from the coaches, and based on the volume from some of the offensive coaches, we might put this one in the sloppy column, at least on the offensive side of the ball during the drill work. Dante Scarnecchia (who is not shy about teaching at this time of the year), Ivan Fears and Josh McDaniels could all be heard at some point.

—Good day for Maurice Harris, who had three straight receptions from Tom Brady at one point during 11-on-11 work. He’s not going to the Pro Bowl this year, but is taking advantage of the reps he’s getting at this point in the spring to continue to trend in the right direction. On the surface, it looked like a lot of the targets that went to N’Keal Harry on Tuesday were earmarked for Harris on Wednesday.

In terms of what might best be described as high-intensity 11-on-11 work, Tom Brady went 10-for-16, Brian Hoyer was 10-for-13 and Jarrett Stidham was 4-for-5.

—Had Stephon Gilmore for multiple pass breakups on Wednesday. Good, active day for the veteran corner.

—More punt return work for the usual group, which included Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett, Maurice Harris and Braxton Berrios.

Troy Brown and Deion Branch were on the field working with the receivers for a second consecutive day. In addition, a bunch of college coaches were in attendance again, including most of the staff from Iowa.

—Pearl Jam, Metallica and Guns N’ Roses were on the practice playlist.
