McAdam: Red Sox capture series with help from unlikely contributors

This was one that could have gone the wrong way for the Red Sox. Easily.

• On Wednesday night/Thursday morning, the Sox walked off the field at Rogers Centre almost exactly 11 hours before today's 12:37 EST start, making for a short night and a quick turnaround.


• In the first three games in Toronto, the Red Sox had leaned heavily on their bullpen, getting 14 innings from their relievers.


• Their starting pitcher for the afternoon, Ryan Weber, was making his first big league start in two years.


• And, for the fourth straight game, the Red Sox were without the use of their best run producer, J.D. Martinez who has been sidelined for the series with a combination of illness and a tight lower back.
