Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your day. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.
We're going to kick off Thursday's opening round of the 2019 NFL draft by asking you guys one question:
What sort of curveball are the Patriots going to deliver over the next few days? You know New England will do something to surprise -- what will it be? A trade, a surprise pick, whatever. Let us know what you think they're going to do in the comments below.
--We spent the last week-plus breaking down the draft by position. Here's what we've got:
Previous positions
Corners
Receivers
Edge
Quarterbacks
Tight ends
Running backs
Offensive tackles
Linebackers
Special teams
--Been looking at a lot of Deebo Samuel lately, and I got a scouting report from my buddy Ian, a big USC fan, and thought I'd include it here: "Strong WR who can play both inside and outside. Deceptive speed. Great hands. Even better as a kick returner than WR. Good teammate. Was injured both sophomore and junior year. Was fully healthy (senior) year. Had his biggest games vs best teams."
--We'll have full coverage from Gillette Stadium, and I'll have a Live Coverage blog up and running for all three days. More details will be along as soon as we get hem, but here's what we know right now:
Round 1: 8 p.m. Thursday
Rounds 2-3: 7 p.m. Friday
Rounds 4-7: 12 p.m. Saturday
