Post-free agency, pre-draft NFL Power Rankings: How do teams stack up at this stage of the offseason? taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

We’re almost two months into the offseason, the first wave of free agency is done and the draft is less than a month away. So how does the league stack up? Here are our post-free agency, pre-draft power rankings, with a key offseason question for each team.

1. Patriots. To be the best you’ve got to beat the best, right? They’ve lost Trey Flowers and Trent Brown in free agency, and Rob Gronkowski has retired ... for now. But they’ve added Michael Bennett, and I’d also look for a deal that will bring in another offensive skill position player sooner rather than later. One question: Who’s going to play wide receiver? There’s a lack of depth at the receiver spot that needs to be rectified heading into 2019, either in the draft or via trade.

2. Saints. Everything is coming up New Orleans this offseason. They have the pass interference revisions that may have cost them a trip to the Super Bowl, made a few smart free-agent pickups, and maintained their core on both sides of the ball. If the Saints stay healthy, they should be an absolute handful in 2019. One question: They’re up against the cap, but can they add one more veteran pass catcher? It feels like they still need to fill out the receivers room, which means New Orleans could have its eye on the likes of Michael Crabtree.

3. Rams. Love what this team has done so far this offseason with the addition of a pair of canny defensive veterans in Eric Weddle and Clay Matthews. If they can get Todd Gurley figured out, they’ll be on the short list of Super Bowl contenders again in 2019. One question: Can they overcome the Curse of the Super Bowl loser?

4. Chiefs. Big offseason in Kansas City with some uncertainty on both sides of the ball. Love the addition of Tyrann Mathieu, and that offense still looks world-class, but there are still some questions about the state of that defense, especially with the losses of Dee Ford and Justin Houston. One question: What’s going to happen with Tyreek Hill? He remains under investigation, and rumors persist the Chiefs are interested in trading him.

5. Colts. Depending on what happens in the draft, Indy could be well-positioned for a deep playoff run in 2019. GM Chris Ballard hasn’t spent a lot this offseason, but Indy has a core coming back after a strong stretch run that lasted into the divisional round. One question: Can Indy find those veteran pieces it needs to take that next step? This team isn’t that far away, but Ballard needs to find a few key elements if they want to reach their ultimate destination.
