PREGAME NOTES

  • While the Rangers might be out of the playoff picture, Boston has had its fair share of troubles against the Blueshirts, with New York looking to complete a season sweep of the B’s for the second time in three seasons tonight. In fact, Boston’s last home loss in regulation all the way back on Jan. 19 came at the hands of the Rangers.

  • Over their last 10 games, the Rangers have posted a 9-1 record against the Bruins — who are coming off of a 5-4 loss in regulation against the Lightning. Still, New York is just 2-7-3 in March.

  • While Sean Kuraly (fractured hand) is still out for at least three weeks and John Moore (upper body) is now tabbed as “week to week” after going down with an injury on Monday, the Bruins are expected to get bodies back in short order. Both Marcus Johansson and Torey Krug will return to the lineup on Wednesday, while Bruce Cassidy noted that both Matt Grzelcyk and Kevan Miller are “probable” for this weekend’s back-to-back slate against the Panthers and Red Wings.

  • Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net for the Bruins, who hold a five-point cushion over the Maple Leafs for second place in the Atlantic with six games remaining in the regular season.
