A few Wednesday notes while we wait for the totals from Georgia’s Pro Day…
Can confirm the Patriots gave a $400,000 raise in 2019 to Lawrence Guy, who barely missed out on a 50 percent playing time incentive this past season. (They did something similar a year ago.) The fact New England has done this in back-to-back years with Guy speaks volumes when it comes to what Bill Belichick and the franchise think of his work — while some defensive tackles struggled with consistency the past two years, Guy has done excellent work in the middle, particularly against the run. A nice reward for a criminally underrated part of the New England defense.
In addition, James White also missed some of his incentives, but still got a $500,000 bump from the team -- prorated $250,000 a year for two years. (Per our guy Miguel, the 2019 and 2020 cap numbers for the Patriots increased $200,000 and $250,000, respectively.)
In addition, Field Yates of ESPN delivered the details of Phillip Dorsett’s one-year deal with the Patriots:
Source: Patriots WR Philip Dorsett's 1-year deal includes a $500K signing bonus, a $1.5M base salary and $600K in per-game roster bonuses. He counts $2.6M against the salary cap.
