BSJ Match Report: Toronto FC 3, Revolution 2 - Despite Gil's brace, Revs can't solve TFC on the road taken at BSJ Headquarters (Revolution)

All you need to know about the Revolution’s 3-2 loss to Toronto FC Sunday night in quickie form, complete with BSJ analysis and insight:

HEADLINES

Altidore comes on and wins it: The former US international is certainly not 90-minutes match fit yet following offseason foot surgery, but what Jozy Altidore gave TFC manager Greg Vanney Sunday night — about 22 minutes — was plenty. Altidore’s tap-in past the dive of Brad Knighton came against the run of play, with Michael Bradley getting the decisive attack started at the midway line. Justin Morrow’s cross had the Revolution defenders cheating toward the near post, and Altidore had enough clearance to give the Reds a vital 3 points, and to break Revs supporters' hearts.

QUOTABLE QUOTES

“Definitely a gut punch. Whenever we have a performance like that where we feel like we should come out with a point, maybe all three, we’re disappointed. But I’m really proud of how everyone works. We kept our composure. There were a couple of mistakes on our end, but overall, I’m pleased with how we played, and now we have to look ahead to our next game.”
