- Tonight will stand as Marcus Johansson’s debut with the Bruins after Boston dealt a pair of draft picks for the winger on Monday afternoon. He will slot in on the second line with David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk.
- The tilt will also be a homecoming for Boston’s other recent acquisition in center Charlie Coyle. The BU product and East Weymouth native has already skated in one game with Boston, centering a third line that generated three high-danger scoring chances against the Blues on Saturday.
- While their seven-game win streak was snapped on Saturday against St. Louis, the Bruins have not lost in regulation since the end of January. With a win or another overtime/shootout appearance, Boston will extend its point streak to 14 straight games. Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net and will look to extend his win streak to four games in a row, while Kevan Miller will sit out due to an upper-body injury.
- The Sharks, who fell to the Bruins in a memorable overtime bout last week, are 3-2-1 in their last six games, but will have Erik Karlsson back in the fold. The star defenseman missed a game on Sunday due to a lingering groin injury.
