- After suffering a rough loss at the hands of the Flyers on Wednesday, the Bruins will look to right the ship against the Blues on Thursday. St. Louis currently sits near the bottom of the Western Conference with 45 points on the year.
- On the second leg of a back-to-back slate, the Bruins will switch up their lineup a bit, with David Backes slotting back into the lineup in place of Noel Acciari, while John Moore will return to game action, joining Kevan Miller on Boston’s third D pairing in place of Matt Grzelcyk.
- While Grzelcyk has played well for most of the season, Bruce Cassidy did note that the back-to-back schedule will be less arduous for the club with players like Moore fresh and ready to enter into the lineup.
- Tuukka Rask will get the start in net on Thursday against the Blues. If Rask is able to secure a win against the Blues, it will stand as the 252nd win of his career — tying him with Tiny Thompson for the most wins for a goalie in Bruins franchise history.
- While the Blues might have in the lower tier in the Western Conference, they have posted a record of 3-0-1 in their last four outings. Ryan O’Reilly leads the club in scoring with 45 points over 45 games, while Vladimir Tarasenko has cooled off a bit this year with just 29 points over 44 games played.
