A few thoughts on Ty Law and Richard Seymour becoming Hall of Fame finalists

Ex-Patriots' Ty Law and Richard Seymour were named as finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2019 on Thursday. What did it mean to cover them here in New England? And what sort of chances to they have when it comes to reaching Canton?

I’ve written a ton about Law’s Hall chances over the course of the last few years, and now that he’s a finalist for a third straight year, I’m going to go back my overall point again: he deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Multiple All-Pro berths. Multiple Super Bowl rings. His 53 career interceptions are as many as Deion Sanders. I covered him from 2001 through 2004, and one of my favorite memories of Law as a player? He was the pioneer of what we came to understand was called “cat coverage.” His definition?
