- The Bruins will be shorthanded once again on Saturday, as Charlie McAvoy (lower-body) and Brad Marchand (upper-body) will miss the matchup due to injury. David Backes will also not participate in the tilt due to his three-game suspension. With Marchand out, Danton Heinen will slot back in on the top line, while Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson and Noel Acciari will both re-enter the starting lineup.

- Tuukka Rask will be in net for the B’s tonight. In his career against the Sabres, Rask is 13-7-1 with a .931 save percentage.
- Jack Eichel, who tallied four points in Buffalo’s 4-2 win over the Bruins on Dec. 16, has now tallied 17 points over his last 10 games. While Buffalo stands as the biggest surprise in the Atlantic this season, the Sabres are just 1-3-0 in their last four outings.
