Bedard's Daily Briefing 12.05.18: Bruins bottom out in Florida, Can Patriots show up on the road?

Good morning! 

A few random thoughts while I wonder if Boston teams just have a thing with South Florida after last night's Bruins game...

• Well, Patriots fans better hope that last night's 5-0 loss by the Bruins to the Florida Panthers was not a precursor of things to come for their football team...


• The Bruins looked disinterested, didn't play much defense and got run over by the Panthers.


• Sounds pretty much like every Patriots performance in South Florida — and their showings on the road this season.


• Man, the Bruins were bad, especially on defense. Look, no one is saying the team is toast or anything — everyone knows the deal with the injuries — but we expect a loss like that to the Lightning ... uh, the Panthers?


• Bruce Cassidy is not going to be happy at today's practice. And I love that about him.


• I'll have more to say on the Patriots later today, but we got into it on F&M ... the state of Gronk is not good, and I don't think the offense is going to be the same strength for this team.


• But the defense is charging hard and I like this mix better.


• I also kind of had a rant about how this Patriots team shows up and gets all excited at home — they were all amped for the Vikings game. How about bringing some of that on the road and not playing like zombies?
