12:08: MacKinnon buries Colorado's third consecutive goal. 4-3 Avs.

12:06: B's almost went 12 minutes without a shot on goal. Boston looks rudderless at 5-5.

PREGAME NOTES:

  • After a convincing win over Vegas on Sunday — their third straight game in which they tallied at least four goals — the Bruins aren’t making any changes up front for Wednesday’s game. On the blue line, Jeremy Lauzon will slot into the game action in place of Brandon Carlo, who will miss the contest due to an upper-body injury that he suffered on Saturday against the Maple Leafs.

  • Jaroslav Halak will get the nod in net — his fourth straight start  — while Tuukka Rask is slated to start one of the team’s two games against the Stars and Coyotes on Friday and Saturday.

  • The top matchup to follow Wednesday will be the Bergeron line against the MacKinnon line — with the six skaters combining for 59 goals and 137 total points so far this season. For a full breakdown of the matchup, click here.

  • Even with their firepower up front, the Avalanche have been stuck in a bit of a rut, posting a 1-4-1 record in their past six games and relinquishing four or more goals in four of their past five games.
