Good morning! A few random thoughts while we speculate just how long Dion Lewis had the Patriots' game circled on his calendar.
--It was a rough weekend for the Patriots (34-10 loss to Tennessee) and Celtics (four losses in their last five), as both stumbled badly over the weekend. The good news? The Bruins have won two of their last three, including a nice victory over the defending Western Conference champions from Vegas on Sunday.
--It's one thing to look at the X's and O's from Sunday's loss to the Titans, but from a big-picture perspective, it's important to hammer home the fact the Patriots (7-3) now have to find a way to make up two games on Kansas City (9-1) over the last six regular-season contests if they want home field. (Remember, New England has the head-to-head tiebreaker.) Anything is possible, but it's an awful lot to ask, especially when you consider the Chiefs still have two games left with the Raiders. (Yikes.)
--BRobb has been crushing it with the Celtics, and he puts the bow on a forgettable road swing for them here. His five takeaways from the trip include the following: "After next weekend, the schedule is about to get a lot softer for Boston, with 13 straight opponents at .500 or below." Regardless of what you think of the start, the Celtics will have a chance to regain their footing sooner rather than later.
