First and 10: Why is Trey Flowers nicknamed 'Quiet Storm'? taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal)

Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Thursday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.

De facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores told us the other day on a conference call that defensive lineman Trey Flowers was nicknamed "Quiet Storm." So I asked Flowers Wednesday if there was a story behind the nickname. After he picked up a pair of the new orange shorts in the locker room, he filled me in.

"It’s not too much of a story," he said with a sheepish grin. "It’s just kind of its own thing. That’s probably just what it is."

Something like, you don't talk a lot and always bring the thunder?

"Yeah, that sounds right," he said with a smile. "Always work hard and don’t say much. Work hard and do my job."

--Hard not to like a guy who can appreciate the greatness of Bobby Boucher.
