FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots held a walkthrough Wednesday afternoon, which means no numbers -- and also means attendance can be a challenge. However, in the relatively short time we were out there, we did see tight end Rob Gronkowski and running back Sony Michel, among others.
Gronkowski, Mason, Michel and Duke Dawson are among those here at the start of the Wednesday walkthrough. No numbers, so attendance will be a little dicey. #Patriots @BostonSportsBSJ pic.twitter.com/y1U9omZUmz

So here's the injury report for Wednesday's walkthrough. Good news on the Gronkowski/Michel?Mason front, but Trent Brown wasn't there because of the illness that has made its way through the New England locker room the last week or so. We'll see how the rest of the week plays out. One other note? Josh Gordon wasn't on the injury report for the first time since he joined the Patriots.
The Patriots have done well making post-trade deadline additions over the years, but they couldn't manage to land Bruce Irvin.
The pass rusher, who was cut loose by the Raiders over the weekend, cleared waivers and signed with the Falcons on Wednesday. According to a report from ESPN, Irvin was pursued by New England, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Atlanta, but ended up signing with the Falcons. There are a few reasons he likely landed in Atlanta, with one of them being a level of familiarity with head coach Dan Quinn, who was the defensive coordinator with the Seahawks when Irvin was in Seattle.

The Patriots announced late Wednesday they had re-signed offensive lineman Matt Tobin to the 53-man roster and running back Josh Ferguson to the practice squad. Tobin went to training camp with New England and was released on Sept. 1. Here's a portion of the announcement from the team on the moves:
Tobin, 28, was signed by the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 3, 2018 and was inactive for two games before being released by the 49ers on Sept. 19. Tobin originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Philadelphia out of Iowa in 2013. He was traded from Philadelphia to Seattle last August. Tobin has played in 57 NFL games with 21 starts.
Ferguson, 25, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Indianapolis out of Illinois in 2016. He made Colts 53-man roster out of training camp and played in all 16 games, finishing with 15 rushing attempts for 20 yards and 20 receptions for 136 yards. Overall, he has played in 26 NFL games. The 5-10, 205-pounder, began the 2017 season the Indianapolis practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster in late October and playing in 10 games. Ferguson was released by Indianapolis on Sept. 18, 2018, before being signed to the Houston practice squad on Oct. 17. He was released from the Houston practice squad on Oct. 23.
