WHAT’S UP: It’s the last match before the World Cup break played at the ungodly hour of 10:30 p.m., and The Boys In Blue will look to not only break its road points total from ’17 (six points), but shatter it with a win in the Golden State. The Revolution (6-4-5, 23 points) sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, while the ‘Quakes (2-9-3, 9 points) sit second to dead last in the West.

3' Rowe with a giveaway, and Rowe with the tactical foul.
4' Foul on Wondolowski. Free kick New England. Fagundez takes it and Tarbell punches it clear, but San Jose has a man down.... trainer is out, talking with him.... he's nodding.
6' Caicedo with a giveaway, but Wondolowski is offside. And he had acres of space in front of him.
7' Fagundez wins the ball on the press, he leaves a left-footer out of reach.
10' Rowe tries to find Fagundez, but it's just a bit out of reach. Good ideas.
11' Vako with the first shot on target for San Jose with the left foot, and Matt Turner with the stop.... Revs come the other way, Fagundez with the shot against a poor Quakes defense, but Tarbell slows it down.
12' Close for San Jose, as Hoesen splits Anibaba and Delamea, shoots just wide of the far post.
15' Rowe with a shot on target from distance on a lay-off from Fagundez... Tarbell dives to his left to make the save.
16' Bunbury with a go on a release from Penilla, but the defender forces the shot to go askew.
17' GOAL SAN JOSE, and it's Hoesen as Rowe has a bad giveaway in the defending third. Jungwirth with the tackle on Rowe to Hoesen, and the Dutchman is clinical as he takes it in the box and fires it beyond Turner as the defense closes in. 1-nil to the Quakes.
20' Foul on Thompson as he takes Bunbury down. Free kick Revs out on the flank. Fagundez takes it and it's headed over the bar by San Jose. Corner.
21' Diego with a blazer over the bar after Nemeth lays it off as he's clipped in the box... no penalty.
29' Things have slowed down a tad. Revs have had some difficulty in stringing passes together to penetrate San Jose's defending third.
30' Nice build-up as Fagundez threads the needle to Somi, who then centers to Bunbury, but it's over the end line.

33' Almost a second for New England as Fagundez lays it off to Bunbury, who's looking for his tenth. He scuffs it and it goes wide.
34' A fist pump by Jalil as he denies a shot by Vako. Corner.
35' Corner kicked aside, but it cycles to Vako, he shoots... OFF THE POST! Going the other way, Affolter goes into the book for a cynical challenge on Nemeth.
38' Big save for Turner. Going the other way, Fagundez on a lay-off from Bunbury, he lays it off for Penilla, he shoots, right to Tarbell.
41' Rowe with a shot on target that Tarbell dives for.
43' Anibaba with a sliding stop and a left footer over the line for a corner.
44' GOAL NEW ENGLAND, and this time it's Cristian Penilla with a STUNNER! Fagundez with the helper, and Penilla makes Lima look silly in the box. 2-1 to New England on Penilla's sixth of the season.

45+1' Corner to the Revs. Good idea by Caicedo to try and cross it, but it's deflected over.
45+2' Fagundez with a volley into the box that Delamea tries to head, but he heads it over.

Halftime thoughts:
Certainly an entertaining first half, and two solid goals by the Revs. Friedel talking to Feldman and Mariner, and he says it was a soft San Jose goal. 45 minutes to go until the World Cup break.
Time for another cup of coffee. And maybe some Cheez-It.
Second half underway.
48' Incredible opportunity for a third as Fagundez plays Caicedo in, but he loses his edge and San Jose eventually clears it. That's the type of play we've seen kill the Revs on the other side. Nice to see the Revs doing that. Nice ideas!
50' GOAL SAN JOSE, and here we go again. Hoesen with the headed in goal, Turner reacts a split second late, and a great service by Lima. 2-2
53' Lob by Fagundez to Delamea in the box, he heads over.
56' Diego with a cheeky back heel to Teal, he's 1 v 1 with the keeper, Tarbell out to challenge... does he win the ball? I'm not too sure.
58' Bunbury with a shot at close range saved.
59' Fagundez inswinger punched away by Tarbell.... another mistake by Rowe, and San Jose goes on the counter. And while the ball gets into Wondolowski's area, Fagundez with the massive run back to get to it first.
61' Alashe on for Quintana, and Zahibo on for Rowe. Not a good night for Rowe.
62' Somi falls down and leaves the Quakes free... and then Zahibo with a first-touch turnover.
69' Great save by Turner on Wondolowski.
70' Agudelo on for Nemeth. Not a bad shift for the Hungarian.
71' Delamea into the book for a cynical challenge on Erikkson.

74' Holy moly, what a run by Agudelo! He gets it at the midway line and he puts the ball on his left foot, but he shoots over. That would have been tremendous.
76' Hoesen blazes over after some nice football by San Jose there.

80' Zahibo has loads of space around him... he ends up shooting over.

88' Two straight corners for the Revs.... the second one sees Penilla shoot nearly wide, but Tarbell gets a glove on it and it's a THIRD corner in a row. But there's a foul off the delivery.

90+2' Now Agudelo's down. Yueill coming on for San Jose, replacing Erikkson. Juan back up.
