BSJ Daily Briefing 04.10.18: Yankees are coming and Sox' pitching is ready

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I try to estimate the over/under on Giancarlo Stanton whiffs this week...

• So, finally, the Red Sox play a real team in the Yankees tonight. Love how the Red Sox have their pitching lined up. The matchups:

• Can't wait to hear the reaction that Sox fans have to Stanton. My best guess: they don't want to poke the bear in his first at-bat, but if he strikes out, it's going to be on after that. I'm greatly looking forward to that.


• By the way, my over/under for Stanton is 8.5 in the series.


• Interesting manager matchup between first-timers Alex Cora and Aaron Boone. Sean McAdam looked at their relationship in December, and that story is now unlocked if you want to take a look at it.


• Counting down the days until Bruins-Maple Leafs drop the puck. The B's really looked like they could use a few days off after a tough closing schedule. I'm going to guess they come out and play well on Thursday night. This team knows how to turn it on.


• Celtics are playing out the string, waiting for their opponent. Check out B-Robb exclusively with Brad Stevens.
