Lawrence Guy missed out on playing-time bonus by 2 snaps, but Patriots gave it to him anyway taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Kevin Jairaj/USA TODAY Sports)

Ian Whetstone (@ianwhetstone) tweeted out at 5:10 AM Saturday February 17 that "it looks to me like the Patriots adjusted the contract of DT Lawrence Guy to add a $500,000 bonus in 2018, probably because he just missed out on a $500,000 incentive in his contract for hitting 55% playing time in 2017. (He finished the year with 54.8%.)."

Basically, since Guy just missed the '17 incentive, the Patriots are giving it to him in a "signing" bonus for ’18.

  • $400,000: 50 percent playing time

  • $500,000: 55 percent playing-time

  • $500,000: 60 percent playing-time
